When introduced to Tiki in 2005, I dove in head first. I researched the history, restaurants, drinks,
music and
art of Tiki. I went on a quest to find the best Tiki bar, the best Mai
Tai and worked on duplicating
Trader Vic’s original Mai Tai recipe. I even went on a pilgrimage to
Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.
I concluded that the appeal of Tiki is rooted in our deep desire for a more enjoyable way of life. Aloha shirts
and shorts instead of suits, songs that transport you to a
luau, and tropical drinks that melt cares away.
