Can I purchase from Island Appeal over the internet?
Sort of. Every item for sale in our inventory at Island Appeal is shown on our
web site. So, you can shop for items on our web site but there is no shopping
cart. We take orders personally over the phone. This allows us to
double-check the inventory for you and answer any questions you may have. The
phone call is
toll-free.

What is your return policy?
New merchandise may be returned within 7 days or exchanged within 30 days of purchase with
original sales receipt and original tags still attached to the items. Items for return must be in the
same condition you received them in. Clothes that have been altered, worn, laundered, or damaged in any way may not be returned or exchanged.
Cancelled or returned special orders are subject to restocking fees (see
Special Orders
below).
Sales are final on all discounted or clearance items.
The amount refunded to you on return items will be the amount paid to us
and will be returned to you in the form paid to us (cash for cash, check
for check, credit for credit). No coupon or certificate amounts will be
refunded or reissued.
I bought a Tommy Bahama shirt in Florida, can I return it to Island Appeal?
No. Island Appeal sells Tommy Bahama merchandise but we are not a Tommy Bahama company store. Only items purchased at Island Appeal may be returned to Island Appeal. However, any new Tommy Bahama item may be returned to any Tommy Bahama company store, regardless of where it was purchased, including Island Appeal.
Can you get a shirt I saw at another Tommy Bahama store?
There are several possible answers to that question. If you are asking if we can
get a specific shirt transferred from a specific Tommy Bahama company store, the
answer is no. While we specialize in Tommy Bahama clothing, we are not a company
store.
If it is an item that is available to us that is not in our inventory, we would
be happy to special order it for you. Because Tommy Bahama only makes a shirt
once, the exact style, size and color you are looking for may no longer be
available. However, if we cannot order it, we are happy to check with the Tommy
Bahama company stores to see where you may be able to purchase that particular
shirt.
Also, while most items that you see at a Tommy Bahama company store are
available to us, certain items are exclusive to Tommy Bahama company stores and
other items are exclusive to boutiques like Island Appeal.
How can I place a Special Order?
Tommy Bahama only makes a shirt once (with very few exceptions) for delivery in
a specific month. Men's
shorts and pants from Tommy Bahama, however, are usually in stock and available in basic
styles in several basic colors. So, if you are looking for an item that is
current and in stock, we can special order it for you.
Delivery takes approximately one week to 10 days. A 50% deposit is required and
there is a 10% MINIMUM CANCELLATION/RETURN FEE. If a special order is cancelled, 10% of the full retail price will be retained.
If the specially ordered item is returned (see
Return Policy
above), 25% of the full retail price will be retained.
Is it true that Tommy Bahama makes the best golf shirts?
Yes. In an independent test, the Marlin & Rossi golf shirt made with
Tommy Bahama's exclusive Leisure Tech fabric was ranked #1, outperforming Nike, Lacoste and other major brands. The result? The quickest drying, most breathable feel all the while keeping its softness and odor
release properties, laundering after laundering.
Do Tommy Bahama shirts run large?
Most of the Tommy Bahama camp shirts do run about one size larger. For instance, if you normally wear a large in most shirts, you would
probably wear a medium Tommy Bahama camp shirt. Occasionally, Tommy Bahama will make a “Vintage Fit” style camp shirt. These shirts run
more true to size, as do Tommy Bahama t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, polo shirts, and Indigo Palms shirts.
There is an extra jump in size between the Tommy Bahama XL and the XXL. If,
after trying a shirt on you find that the XL is a bit too tight or too short and
the XXL is too large, you may want to try a Tommy Bahama Big & Tall size. If
we don't have the shirt you need, we will be happy to special order it for you.
Special orders usually take about a week to be delivered to our store.
Are Indigo Palms garments made by Tommy Bahama?
Yes. Indigo Palms is Tommy Bahama's denim line of clothing, including blue jeans
and shirts to go with blue jeans. Shirts run true to size and are usually made
of washable fabrics.
Are Tiki Classic shirts made by Tommy Bahama?
No. Tiki camp shirts are designed by an ex-surfer turned artist. They are cut similarly to Tommy Bahama camp shirts and they too usually run about one size large. The silks are a lighter weight, which makes them cooler to wear in warm weather, and most are embroidered with a tiki or palm tree design. They do also make some plain jacquards and great panel shirts.
Can I wash silk shirts?
While some silks are washable, the shirts will be altered in the process. The colors may fade and, depending on the wash water temperature
and drying method, the shirts may even shrink. These are finely tailored silk shirts that, properly taken care of, will be treasured pieces
of your wardrobe for many years to come. We suggest you take any of our silk shirts to
Flamingo Cleaners
for cleaning. They know our inventory better than any other cleaners in the area. They will use the best method to clean each of your garments.
How can I reduce the cost of dry cleaning these shirts?
A contrasting t-shirt worn under your camp shirt will not only reduce the trips to the dry cleaners but it will also make your camp shirt look even better. Pick one of the less prominent colors in the shirt’s design or, if it is a solid, any contrasting color (e.g. for a dark blue shirt, your t-shirt could be light blue, white, yellow, red, or orange).
What does it cost me to be an eRewards member?
The only thing that is required to be an eRewards member is an active email address. In exchange for allowing us to communicate with you by email,
you will receive 10% on every purchase in eRewards certificates that may be
applied to any purchase in the following 90 days. Members receive free hemming on new slacks,
birthday gifts, and, most of all, email notification on the arrival of new merchandise, giving our best customers the best selection.
Why do you only notify customers by email?
Our eRewards program is our way of thanking our customers for helping us reduce our marketing costs. It also allows us to do things like notify our best customers of all new arrivals before the items are even put on the sales floor. If you see something in that email that you like, call us and we will hold your size and color for up to 48 hours. When you come in to the store, if you don’t like it as much as you thought you would, we will simply put it back into
inventory
What is your Privacy Policy?
Our customer information, including our email list, is only used by
Island Appeal to benefit our customers. Most months only one email goes
out to announce our latest arrivals. Some months, emails will also go
out to announce Private Members-Only Sales, holiday store hours, or for special announcements. We greatly value our customers and respect their
privacy.
Can I combine discounts?
Only eRewards
certificates may be combined prior to the expiration date on each
certificate. No other sales, discounts,
or certificates may be combined. We
allow one discount per transaction. Each promotion is designed to give our customers the best
possible offer during the time of that promotion.
Promotions are valid for use at Island Appeal only. Offers must be presented at the time of purchase and may not be
reused or used toward the purchase of gift cards or online merchandise.
Promotions apply to new purchases only. No adjustments will be made to prior purchases. Returns or exchanges are subject to discounts taken at the time of redemption.
Promotions will not be reissued on returned merchandise.
